Dark Water was a Dark Gothic / Atlantis themed mid-rank DonFuer base founded by leadership team in late 2024.

History

Foundation and planning

Dark Water was founded by Donfuer leadership team in November 2024. It's a mid-rank base for the Donfuer rangers rank and above, also the first base set up after a1 leak incident in October.

Lukent and Sanuty scout the location, then N8TT, Javikia, Volker and other leadership members arrived to set up the base. Javikia designed the signboard with two color theme merged together, as a symbol of the dual-themed base. While selecting base name, Sanuty suggested the base name "Darkwater Cathedral", while it didn't end up as official name, "Dark Water" had stayed as the final base name.

Base theme was voted by rangers, among all the options Gothic and Atlantis had the highest votes. Base members then decided to have Atlantis build in ocean, Gothic build on ground.

There were no specified base plans at the start except simple terraforming. After the signboard was built around the beginning of November 2024, members arrived and start building.

Construction

For Gothic theme builds, Volker started several builds right after setting up the base, also finished basic farms for base members. The townhall house built by Volker was turned into villager trading spot later. Jackson_Ramsay designed two gothic towers in main area. VoidedValentine built the Skull Island on the east side of the base, constructed road plan for main area, also contributed several other builds in base. Mason_Soup built gothic theme island next to Voided's area, included one medieval style KFC. Mason_Soup also help added several farms under sign board area.

Markoez designed the gothic castle in the middle of main area. PrinceMystical added the underground casino nearby.

For Atlantis theme builds, Spencer36000 built the underwater palace close to signboard. PallePathos designed the volcano island on east side of the base, then added the pirate ghost ship on the ocean. (The volcano island was still in progress when base ended, then was rebuilt in Donwaii later.)

SkiHatDuckie constructed the sandstone based Atlantis build northern to the signboard, N8TT added the sea serpent statue next to it later. Dylan539 built a separate town with different themes on the ocean, included a totem tower that consist of Donfuer members' statue.

Trivia

To optimize the space, the farm area under signboard was very compacted, base members often got lost in the farm.

During Xmas holiday, base members built Xmas trees and put gift shulker boxes under the trees.

The base was found two times, both by base hunters, and they both stayed to build with base members.

One of the hunters, Leroche, later joined the group as formal member. Leroche accidentally found the base while trying to find ancient debris in new chunks.
