Project Nostalgia is a group dedicated to the restoration and documentation of old bases. Not only do they restore historic builds, they also make contact with the former owners to allow them to view their base once more.

History

Project Nostalgia was founded on August 4th, 2025 by Pizzapiecake and wcrm after meeting each other in chat and having the mutual goal to restore old builds to their former glory. With that in mind, they began on their first project, Fort Unpopulated.

Bases

Fort Unpopulated

Fort Unpopulated, a former Facepunch Republic base was the first base repaired, being only minorly griefed, the base took a total of two days to repair. Following a couple player visits, the base was griefed less than a month after it's completion. Former Facepunch Republic leader Chezhead was contacted about this place, but doesn't recall the exact details of this base.

Bender Base

After searching through the archive server, the second build had been decided on. An obscure base built sometime in 2012 named Bender Base, the creator of the base being unknown. Minecraft Youtuber Nikoyaps had visited this location as an early tour around the Project Nostalgia restorations, the base has since been griefed.

Dark Souls Castle

The Dark Souls Castle was chosen after Pizzapiecake's history at the location. In 2021, during a Spawn Mason Lodge, Pizzapiecake was invited to attend the lodge. After that event, he had a deep connection to the base and has wanted a full restoration of it since. With that in mind, steady progress was made for a total of 11 days. Shortly after its repair, 2b2t Veteran, doctrzombie, was invited to tour the place, and filmed a sequel to his first encounter. Fit was also contacted, and had shown interest, but was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.

Ramiel's Watch

On August 26th, Ramiel's Watch had begun restoration. This place, not being too severely griefed, took a total of two days to restore. This base was also the site for the original 2014-2016 2b2t Newspaper ran by Spikain, and later by Jacktherippa after he took refuge here following Space Valkyria 2's destruction.

Plugin Town

Shortly after the completion of Ramiel's Watch, Pizzapiecake and wcrm had decided to move out further into the greater spawn region. Unlike the other bases before, Plugin Town's ruins were few and far between, making this restoration take 5 days to complete. This was their most expensive restoration thus far, taking multiple shulkers of Diamond Blocks and Gold Blocks to repair. Doctrzombie was invited to record a video at this location as well, visiting it a couple weeks after its repair. xcc2, one of the only contactable former base members, was reached out to shortly after, visiting the place in October.

xcc2's Swamp Base

After surfing old 2b2t videos, wcrm had come across a more obscure base from 2011, one of xcc2's original spawn bases, Swamp Base. Due to it's close proximity to the diagional highway, construction was quickly started, finishing in 4 days. Xcc2 was promptly invited, also visiting the location in October. The base lasted a total of roughly two months before being griefed beyond recongition.

The Lands

The Lands' restoration began on September 13th, 2025. This was one of the more complex bases to fix, as there were various types of blocks, and a giant quartz building. After a week of thorough repairs and even modernizing the gold farm, The Lands was completed on September 20th. It sat ungriefed for six consecutive months until Hausemaster worldedited the base in early Feburary 2026 as a request from Mojang to comply with new standards.

Valkyria

Deciding to push it a step further, Pizzapiecake and wcrm had decided to take one one of their biggest projects yet. Arriving on September 23rd to a large lavacast created by Jared2013, this would be one of the most sophisticated restorations yet. After a week of hard work, the lavacast had been sucessfully cleared, officially kickstarting the repair. Construction concluded on October 20th. On October 26th, Pizzapiecake and wcrm hosted a Valkyria Reunion, bringing exaltedspartan, THEJudgeHolden, xarviar, Jacktherippa, KnightVista, xcc2, and fastvincent1 to celebrate its restoration. KnightVista went on to add on to Valkyria, creating a small series of builds named South Town. The base was griefed sometime in late November.

Space Valkyria 2

Following Jacktherippa's interest in Project Nostalgia as well as the griefing of Space Valkyria 3 v3, it was decided that Space Valkyria 2 would be the perfect place to restore. With it's extremely close proximity to End 00, materials had to be gathered in advance before starting the project. After everything had been gathered, restoration began on November 12th, and concluding on November 15th. Shortly before Jacktherippa visited on November 15th, two people had found Space Valkyria 2 and attempted to grief it, leaving only minor damage that was repaired swiftly.
