The Rusher War or the Rusher Invasion was a major conflict between Team Rusher and Team Veteran, which began in June 2016 and ended in October 2016. Following TheCampingRusher's video on 2b2t, hundreds of players began joining the server. In an attempt to ensure the server's integrity, established players fought against Rusher fans.

Start and end dates

The Rusher War began on June 1, 2016, with TheCampingRusher's initial video. Other dates include June 3, when Rusher referenced a war, and June 12, the day after Fit, Babbaj, and jared2013 committed a massacre against Rusher fans and established Team Veteran.

The exact date of the war's end is believed to be October 9, when Fit declared that Team Veteran had won the war. Rusher concluded his series on October 22, officially ending the war.

History

War breaks out (June 1–12)

Jukepolice discovers Newbase

On June 1, 2016, TheCampingRusher uploaded a video entitled "OLDEST SERVER IN MINECRAFT!!". In the video, Rusher and MrMitch361, who were frequenter players on the PvP Minecraft server TheArchon, visited locations on 2b2t, including a former castle and early construct owned by 0xymoron known as Newbase and used as a sanctuary.[1] Rusher's large audience—estimated to be over 750,000 by the video's publication—incurred a mass influx, infuriating players as the server reached its player capacity.[2] The following day, Jukepolice discovered the location of Newbase and gave it to ManVan, who destroyed the base.[3] Mitch was killed by lava upon logging off. Rusher uploaded a second video on June 3 in which he claimed an "all-out war" was unfolding. On their second day, they formed an alliance with ItzFreezy__, a fan of Rusher. In their videos, Rusher and Mitch demonstrated a lack of understanding of 2b2t and disrespect towards the server's community; an effort to kill Rusher fans began.[4]

By June 8, an average of over two hundred players were concurrently online.[5] The server's resources were unable to sustain the increase in players, and chests became unusable.[6] Hundreds of players were entrapped in obsidian cages by players such as _Henry_.[7] Hausemaster implemented the queue on June 9 and temporarily replaced the map. Players, including Fit, raided Rusher sanctuaries and mass executed Rusher fans. On June 10, Graser10, a YouTuber with over five hundred thousand subscribers and an associate of Rusher, uploaded a separate video on 2b2t.[8]

Team Veteran and Paradise raid (June 12–22)

On June 12, Fit, Babbaj, and jared2013 executed 40 Rusher fans at a compound. The largest planned massacre in history, the ambush was a defeat for Team Rusher.[9] Team Veteran was established the following day with Fit as the group's leader. That day, Fit received information on a skybase used by Rusher fans; the base was raided.[10] Fit began an effort to recruit members to Team Veteran in the following days. Recruitment material included propaganda depicting major Rusher losses.

On June 22, Team Veteran discovered Rusher's base and lavacasted it.

The queue was implemented during the war.

As a result of TheCampingRusher's initial video, Hausemaster implemented a queue to 2b2t in an attempt to quell increasing server demand.
