rebane2001 is a 2b2t developer and mapart maker, best known for creating the MapartCraft website and for running the 2b2t mapart wall site. He has been a member of the SpawnMasons and TEA, and a past member of the Guardsmen.
History
Mapartcraft and the mapart wall
rebane2001 created the MapartCraft website, a schematic generation tool that became the standard method for planning and building maparts on 2b2t. The Mapart article on the 2b2t wiki lists it as one of the server's primary specialized tools for the craft. Chat logs show him advertising it in global chat as late as July 2022 and routinely announcing updates to his mapart wall site, a publicly accessible index of maps on the server, from 2020 through 2022.
Two of his own maparts ranked among the largest on the server. His "No Comment" mapart was the second largest on 2b2t at the time of Mapopoly's completion, behind only KevinKC2014's Angel's Mirror, while his Mapopoly entry placed third.
rebane2001 also joined TEA (The Escape Artists), the mapart group founded by Noah3j in early 2020, specifically for the purposes of preserving and collecting maps on the server.
Map Marker Exploit
In 2021, rebane2001 and cityboss1 co-discovered the Map Marker Exploit. After cityboss1 noticed that stacked item frames caused map markers to stack on top of one another, the two found that this could be used to severely lag or chunkban players depending on their hardware. They also discovered a second glitch by which re-entering the overworld from the nether duplicated the existing markers, extending the trail further. A module was developed to hide the markers from the players using the exploit. Around May 17th 2021, copies of the affected maps were placed around spawn and on the nether highways, crashing the server and blocking players from joining. The admin was forced to restart and limit the number of markers that could be displayed on an individual map. rebane2001's alt account popstonia later uploaded renders of the exploit.
SpawnMasons and Guardsmen
rebane2001 was a member of the SpawnMasons and built at Chunk Haven, the SpawnMason spawnbase that ran from October 2020 to June 2021, as well as Sky Masons, the group's large main base that stood from mid-2020 until its grief in October 2022. He was also a past member of the Guardsmen.
Gysdall and introducing Warske
rebane2001 found the solo base Gysdall through the mapart wall within a month of its founding in late 2020, traveling there on his alt popstonia. Rather than leaking or griefing the base, he left a book in the nearest chest explaining how he had found it and that he would keep the coordinates safe. Warske, the base's founder, discovered the book after noticing an unfamiliar portal near the base. Following Gysdall's grief by the Backstreet Boys in April 2022, rebane2001 introduced Warske to the SpawnMasons.
DonFuer 20
Following the grief of DonFuer 20 in March 2021, rebane2001 typed the entirety of the fanfiction Fallout: Equestria across approximately 55,000 signs on a path leading away from the base.
Helheim and the Astral Brotherhood
rebane2001's mapart wall indirectly caused the abandonment of the Astral Brotherhood's Helheim base in 2022. A map was made of the base a week after its founding, which appeared on the public mapart wall site. Upon rebane's visit to the base shortly after, the Astral leadership determined it was no longer safe and abandoned it, with cpybara, HURTLOCKERBECK, and mootvey founding Helheim 2 immediately afterward.
Don Blåhaj
In mid-October 2022, a member of the DonFuer spawnbase Don Blåhaj created an in-game map of the town center, unknowingly causing it to appear on rebane2001's mapart site. This exposed the base to terrain exploitation and contributed to its grief by Dima788 and the Backstreet Boys on November 4, 2022.
