The Trading Post on 2b2t is was founded in January 2025 by _OGKush_, and is known for being a large community group that focuses on efficient and friendly trading throughout the server. The group maintains a peaceful, neutral stance and does not have any direct allies or enemies on the server. The group is known for intricate Spawn and Space pearl locations, as well as large bases that contain a variety of builds.
Early History
The Trading Post (originally known as Southern Canal Trading Post) began on December 30, 2024, by a player named _OGKush_. _OGKush_ was traveling to the canal to meet and trade with a couple of players for in game items he needed. He chose the coordinates of +19,000 on the canal due to it being an ambiguous number and without any major monuments, with the exception of a single Godroster cookie hut.
_OGKush_ set up a small trading shop near 19k and waited for players that he had messaged in game or boated along the canal met and met to trade with. One of the arranged trades was with WetSlimeGirl, who took 3 days to arrive to the trading site and finally meet with _OGKush_. During those 3 days, multiple players stumbled across the shop and vowed to return to make their own. Slowly, more players found the 19k trading trading area and continued to set up small shops of their own to be used as a sanctuary to safely trade near spawn.
Group Formation and Name Change
Eventually, the location at 19k grew to become a large trading hub for players. Although the location would get destroyed on a weekly basis, there was a dedicated team of players that rebuilt it in a short amount of time. _OGKush_ created a formal group for the 19k players and events, and landed on "The Southern Canal Trading Post"
The Southern Canal Trading Post quickly gained attention across the server, including attention from griefing groups. The Fifth Column and The Goodfellas were the primary groups doing the griefing, and threatened to pave over the canal with obsidian.
While the group operated directly on The Southern Canal, it was not associated with maintenance or upkeep of the canal and had no association with the WWU (Water Way Union), which supports these tasks. To avoid further destruction of The Southern Canal, which is a crucial transit route for the entire server, _OGKush_ decided to rename the group to "The Trading Post" and shifted activities away from the canal for a period of time.
First Trident Dupe of 2b2t
In February 2025, a player named Scientify wandered down the canal until they reached 19k and asked for two tridents. Upon receiving the two tridents, he began duping them openly at 19k and handing them out to anybody who stopped by. This is the first documented place where Tridents were duped on 2b2t. This dupe caught the attention of FitMC, who made a dedicated youtube video on the trident dupe and briefly featured The Trading Outpost at 19k. This video also, however, caught the attention of several griefing groups such as The Fifth Column, The Gulag and The Emperium. Despite the many attempts to grief the 19k Trading Outpost location, it was always rebuilt shortly after being griefed.
The Beginning of Pearl Bots
The beginning of widespread Pearl Bot usage began with the group The Devs at a location called "Pearl Butler", which was the same name as the bot programmed for this. _OGKush_ was given access to this location in order to more efficiently trade with members of The Devs and those affiliated with them. _OGKush_ had the idea making this technology more accessible and widespread across the server in order to improve travel and trade efficiency. He brought this idea to a player named KarmaKoin, who had the development and coding skills to improve upon what The Devs had started. KarmaKoin created a system based on [[Zenith Proxy that would pearl players automatically when they messaged the bot in game or through discord. This system became the basis of future trade locations that The Trading Post utilized. Eventually, The Trading Post had an established network of these bots within every dimension that players could use. With the addition of the account SpawnPearl, The Trading Post had the most active trading and pearling location on 2b2t. Eventually, other groups like Stasis Co would find these locations and attempt to recreate them using open-source programs.
Notable Bases
19k
19k was the original Trading Post location, and has remained an important landmark that gets revisited, rebuilt and restored by certain members of the Trading Post. Mini events and streams occur at this location as it has historical significance. Many of the Trading Post's core members arrived to this location to begin setting up areas along the canal such as WetSlimeGirl, MikeyJohnson, Pah, and LongDoug as well as Burguss, MartinStopMotion, User3superHP and ShySlime. LongDoug is known for his recognizable 2b chats containing only "long doug", which has become a recognizable joke server wide.
835k
As the popularity of the 19k location on the canal grew, it attracted attention from both players that wanted to trade, as well as those that wanted to destroy the location. After continuous griefs, the Trading Post team moved to 835k on the canal to create a more private and functional trading area without consistent disruptions from griefers.
The Trading Post at Mooshmore Island
The Trading Post main base at Mooshmore Island was established by MikeyJohnson on April 20, 2025. This was the first major Trading Post base and housed members and lasted until September 2025. The location was found in August 2025 by a youtuber and base hunter xioazhen. This was the first off-canal base of the group, and it won the 2025 2b2t Oscars award for "Best overall base".
Krakatoa
The Trading Post at Krakatoa was established on October 21 2025 by _OGKush_ and MikeyJohnson, and lasted until November 2025. The base featured an exact replica of The Southern Canal going through the base, a large volcano build and many others.
Golf Post
Following the self-grief of Krakatoa, a new base was founded known as The Golf Post. The base featured large areas of golfing green terrain as well as some build styles specific to all of the trading post locations such as a large cherry tree, which is the group's logo.
Spawn Pearl
The Trading Post Spawn Pearl is one of the most active trading hubs on the server, hosted by the pearl bot technology by KarmaKoin. Each time a spawn pearl location gets griefed, it gets rebuilt in a new location with a new intricate design. The first spawn pearl location was a sky platform designed by _OGKush_ that began on April 20, 2025 and lasted until September 11, 2025. In August 2025, _OGKush_ and Darvon created an Ancient City themed spawn pearl location. On December 31, 2025, The Trading Post released a new spawn pearl location themed after an Ancient City, designed by musheck. This location lasted until early March 2025, when the location was griefed. Shortly after, a new location was created by member musheck with a similar Ancient City theme but optimized with far more pearl chambers. This location lasted until a grief in early May 2025. Following these intricately themed spawn pearl locations, the group created The Ziggurat of Ash spawn pearl designed by _OGKush_, MikeyJohnson and musheck.
Space Pearl
The Trading Post's Space Pearl location follows a similar concept as the Spawn Pearl, with the exception of more PvP occurring at the Space Pearl in the end dimension. The Space Pearl locations began in November of 2025, with the first iteration being designed by _OGKush_ as a sphere in the end dimension. After being destroyed, the second iteration of Space Pearl was made by musheck on February 11, 2026, and lasted until May 2026. It resembled a planetary sphere with glass rings and lighting effects on the inside with candles, end rods etc.
Group Recognition
In November 2025, the 2b2t Oscars held by The Wedding Planners took place near spawn with hundreds of attendees. Every major group on the server was involved in casting votes for various 2b2t gameplay categories. The Trading Post was the only group to win two separate categories, which were "Best Spawnbase" and "Best Overall Base". _OGkush_ gave an acceptance speech for both awards.
