Quarantine:Block 36

The Block-36 Exploit - also known as the Invisible Block Exploit - was an exploit utilized in 2020 and 2021.
History
The exploit allowed players to create invisible blocks that could only be interacted with using a special hack module. The blocks were created by blowing up a piston in a specific way, leaving only the extended piston head that would turn invisible.[1] In a normal situation players would walk through the block, but be unable to break it or place other blocks on top of it. Mobs also wouldn’t walk through it in most situations. Using a special hack module however, players were able to interact with it. The exploit was utilized on 2b2t a few times. Block-36’s appeared at the base Hopen and were also used during a Fight Club event in 2020 to keep water floating above the arena. The Infinity Incursion planned to use the exploit to block existing nether Highways or construct ones that could only be walked upon using a private hack module and were essentially ungriefable. Forceken used the exploit in combination with maparts to construct an ‘invisible base’, known as The Mirage of ‘Mapart Castle’, around 40 100, -12 470. On 2b2t item-frames and maps appeared only when a player was around two to three chunks away from them. This meant they remained invisible until the player was right next to them, even if the terrain itself had already been loaded from a distance. Over the course of half a year Forceken constructed multiple map-arts representing the textures of stone bricks, birch wood, glass and netherrite and a map-art of the 2b2t logo. He also used a special module - developed by player SankuGG - to build entire block-36-walls to place the item-frames on. Inside the castle he hid a small stash, by placing shulker-boxes inside item-frames. Around the base multiple oddities could be found. First there were a few blocks of ‘shivering sand’: sand blocks that had fallen ‘through’ block-36, and now looked like they were ‘shivering’. Second, a bridge made out of block-36’s was constructed that could only be crossed using a special hack-module. Third, multiple floating blocks - including sand, water and lava - were present around the base. After a video by FitMC about the exploit was released on March 27th 2021, the exploit was quickly patched.[2][3]
