Quarantine:119incident

From 2b2t Uncensored

The 1.19 Incident, also referred to as The Update as well as The Strike, was a server wide incident that occurred between August 14th, 2023, and August 27th, 2023, when the server was set to update from 1.12 to 1.19. With the update, Hausemaster added unplanned changes to the server, such as a "soft economy reset" in which certain items in players inventories and stashes were erased, such as golden apples, end crystals, etc. There was also the change of chunk culling, in which certain old chunks that were loaded in older versions of the Minecraft were removed in order to generate newer 1.19 terrain. After these changes were announced, the majority of players were outraged. Soon after the initial update, a group called The 2b2t Union formed with the goal of pressuring Hausemaster to revert these changes. They're main method of protest was encouraging players and members of the union to refund priority queue in mass. After weeks of losing funds from the resistance, Hausemaster ultimately decided to roll the server back to 1.12 and update again to 1.19 without all the changes. This meant 2 weeks of the server would be lost, which upset a minority of newfags. Right before the server rolled back on August 27th, Hausemaster posted a lengthy apology, explaining his initial reasons for the changes and an assurance that said changes would not be included ever again. This was victory for The 2b2t Union, as the group has accomplished its main goal. The Discord server of The 2b2t Union is still active today. Prominent voices and protesters from The 2b2t Union include SalC1, FitMC, Save_G, C0mmie., Horatio4233, _constructer, and toska2b2t.
