The nether is a dimension in Minecraft that was added in the Alpha v1.2.0 update, and is best known on 2b2t for being used as a fast form of travel, since one block in the nether equals eight blocks in the overworld.
2b2t's nether spawn region has been similarly griefed to shit as its overworld equivalent, and is known as a region where many players go to kill newfags. It is also the location of the most-used highway network.
